Bio |
As a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Brentwood, Los Angeles, I work with relationship issues that cause anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relational conflict and stunted personal growth. Stress, anger and fear are often at the root of relationship problems, and I work with individuals and couples to get to the roots of these difficult repeated experiences so that they can become free of automatic and outdated coping systems that are now self-destructive. I believe in empowering people to own their personal authority so that they feel more secure, move away from dependency and or codependency towards more autonomy while enjoying the healthier interdependency in solid secure attachments.
I work predominantly with adults but include children when I work with families. I have 16 years work with children and families and 25 years of experience as a psychologist.
I am the author of Now You Want Me, Now You Don’t: Fear of Intimacy, that offers a glimpse of how a marriage struggles when partners don’t feel safe with true vulnerability involved in emotional intimacy.
As part of my work with abuse and trauma I use art therapy and have an expertise in working with dreams to help people get a better understanding of themselves.
I am an outside individual supervisor for SCC and have been doing this work for 6 years.
I have a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Psychoanalytic Center of California.
