Judith J. Bucholtz, Ph.D., is a clinical psychotherapist with over 29 years of experience. She specializes in individual, couples, children and adolescents, and family therapy. Judi Bucholtz is an interactive, psychodynamic therapist. Her therapeutic approach is working as a team, which provides support and compassionate feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. Judi builds on her client’s strengths which will enhance the opportunity to focus on issues and what lies beneath them. This will develop more effective coping skills, reduce symptoms, all which lead to changes in our lives. With in-depth listening, sensitivity, and active understanding, she integrates complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Her goal is to create a safe and caring environment. This creates consistency, dependability, enhances the development of insight, motivation, and the personal motivaion and growth you are striving for.As a psychotherapist, and a graduate of Antioch University and Ryokan College in Clinical Psychology, she specializes in psychodynamic, interpersonal and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Judi maintains her private practice in West Los Angeles. She works with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are: Anxiety, Relationships Issues and Communication, Depression, Eating Disorders, Children and Adolescents Issues, Trauma (emotional/physical/sexual), and Parenting and Family Issues.

Judi is also a Certificated Teacher in the state of California. She taught both elementary and middle school. She is fluent in Spanish and works with children and teens and focuses to help them with any and all situations that occur in school that impedes their academic progress. She specializes in students with difficulties and stress that is displayed at school. She works with student’s academic stressors, not completing assignments, poor test scores, difficulty with study habits, and a general lack of motivation. She helps students develop self-worth and self-esteem which strengthens their ability to succeed. Often times students struggle with their peers, classroom problems, parents, and teachers. Judi has worked with children and teens for over 30 years. Her experience has afforded students with promising results in gaining self-esteem, a positive feeling about themselves, and thus demonstrating improved academic and social success.In addition, Judi Bucholtz has taught at the graduate level in Clinical Psychology. Her main subjects are development of Children and Adolescents, Adults Who Were Molested as Children, and Parenting.  Judi has taught many workshops, courses, support groups oriented towards self exploration, relieving symptoms, and self-esteem. She speaks on issues of personal self-growth, recovery from alcoholism, drugs, and eating disorders throughout the Los Angeles area, She has developed workshops on “The Difference between Listening and Understanding.”
