Bio |
I’m a licensed psychotherapist in Los Angeles, California. Psychotherapy has always been a passion of mine, and going back to school confirmed for me that this is my life’s work. After completing my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, I trained at Southern California Counseling Center (SCCC) and worked with at-risk teens at two non-public schools, Crossroads School and Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services. Soon after I began working with individuals with eating disorders and developed and ran the Partial Day Treatment Program at A New Journey Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Santa Monica for over two years. Since then I have been in private practice and continue to supervise interns at various sites and in my private practice.
In addition to using Dialectical Behavior Therapy and traditional talk therapy, I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Clinician, and I am also trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) as well as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR.) With my clients I use whatever modality is more appropriate for his or her needs, and I tailor the treatment specifically for the individual or couple. I have experience working with those struggling with mood disorders (depression/anxiety), eating disorders and body image issues, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, self esteem issues, substance abuse/alcoholism, parenting issues, LGBT issues, life transitions, women’s issues, etc.
My goal with each client is to help them manage their lives in a different way–not getting rid of anxiety but bringing it to a level where they are able to function productively and move forward. We all deserve to feel loved and supported.
