Southern California Counseling Center celebrates the 49th graduating class of the Community Counselor Course
The Southern California Counseling Center proudly celebrated the graduates who completed the Community Counselor Course. On behalf of the counseling center administration, Associate Clinical Director Clay Crosby congratulated the graduating class. “You are a brave group,” remarked Clay. Marianne Diaz, Director of Outreach and founding counselor of the class noted “this is the 49th graduating class for this course, which the counseling center holds twice a year.” “This class came about after the Los Angeles riots in 1992 with the sole purpose of healing communities. Our graduates have gone on to do just that — being catalysts for open dialogue and cross-cultural communication throughout the Southern California area.”
The Community Counselor Course is facilitated by counselors from the Southern California Counseling Center. Southern California Counseling Center’s unique training model focuses on mutual respect and open communication. “To learn and grow you must experience discomfort,” said Marianne. She emphasized “it’s so necessary for us to come together as a community.”
Congratulations to the graduates of our 49th class.
