Saturday night’s SCCC e-Vent APART TOGETHER was a tremendous success!
We’re thrilled to have had so many people come together to celebrate the SCCC community at its first-ever virtual fundraiser via YouTube.
Together we raised over $96,000. WOW!
Hosted by Board member Saul Janson, the evening was a full hour of fun, with celebrity guests, entertainment, a silent auction and a live comments feed where everyone could join in. Most important was the generous support we received to strengthen our capacity to provide affordable, high quality mental health care services through our telehealth platform, WeCounsel.
Among those applauding the efforts of SCCC’s counselors, supervisors and staff, and the importance of mental health were Congresswoman Karen Bass; former NBA player Jason Collins; Tony Award nominee Charlayne Woodard; actors and producers Peter Horton and Jon Huertas, and musicians Guy Erez of the Alan Parsons Project and Agastock’s Kriss Light, who ended the evening with a haunting rendition of John Prine’s “Sam Stone.” Two former clients, Melissa Monroe and Lavell “Tomahawk” Williams offered moving, emotional testimonials about their experiences with SCCC counselors. Our gratitude to both of them for lending their voices to our efforts.
A special “thank you” goes out to our Advancement “Dream” Team of Sandra McClean, Saul Janson, Lora Fremont, Scott Buckland, Alyssa Johnson, Nick Fisher and Michelle Becker for their vision, hard work and tireless commitment. You are the best!
Here’s to staying safe and staying healthy!
